First Big Snow of the Year

The heavy snow started late Saturday afternoon and continued over night with on and off again snow all day Sunday.  The lake effect warning was supposed to be over at 7pm on Sunday, but then it was continued into Monday.  Local schools were closed on Friday and again today.  Due to the blowing and drifting it is hard to tell for sure how much snow we received over the weekend, but the total was well more than a foot.  Today we are supposed to receive an additional foot of snow.

Just for reference, my eagle statues in the photo below are three feet tall....

The trees are just covered in snow....

Once this snow event is over, I will have to rake the snow off my roof.  It is starting to pile up!

The snow is starting to pile up on the south side of my house.
