Chapel Hike in the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore -- Post 2

Today I will post the second batch of photos from the Chapel hike I took last week with my friends.

Jim, Marsha, and Denise at the trail head....

The day before our hike, it rained for six hours.  The mushrooms were everywhere....

Hiking down the trail....

After three miles along the west side of Chapel Lake, we arrived at the Lake Superior shoreline.

The erosion at Chapel Beach was amazing.  This used to be a wide beautiful sandy beach.  Now most of the beach is no longer with us.

Chapel Rock....

Marsha has a water bag she fills and a filter pump used to fill water bottles.  The waves of Lake Superior made it a bit more challenging to fill her water bag.

Finally, success....

We headed back down the trail to the west.  One of the first things you see off in the distance to the east is Spray Falls.

Zooming back to Chapel Rock...

 ...and Spray Falls.
