Fall Colors and Final Waterfalls

Today I'll post the final pictures from my fall color/waterfall adventure that I took with my sister, Diana, a couple of weeks ago.

On the way home we stopped at our 11th and final waterfalls. Memorial Falls is located on Michigan Nature Association properly in Munising, MI.

After leaving Munising, we drove H58 back to Grand Marais and stopped at Sullivan's Landing in the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.  This is the spot that over 100 years ago a ship started sinking off shore after hitting the rocks at Au Sable Point.  Captain Sullivan told his men to abandon ship.  They were in the midst of a fall storm and the men refused to jump into the cold waters of Lake Superior.  Their ship's cargo happened to be whiskey barrels.  Captain Sullivan had the men throw the barrels overboard.  The men rode the barrels to shore.  Thus, Captain Sullivan saved the whiskey and the lives of all his men.

A father and son were playing football on the beach.

We also stopped at the Logslide.

And then we headed back to the car and completed our wonderful adventure.
