Full Moon Snowshoe in the Grand Sable Dunes

The other night friends and I decided to go on a full moon snowshoe up in the sand dunes. Temperatures were in the low 20s, but there was a stiff breeze coming off Lake Superior from the north. We were out for about an hour and a half. I must admit that I was cold since we were actually doing more sitting than snowshoeing. If we would have continued walking, we would have missed the moon's rising since we would not have been high enough to see it.

First, a picture looking out over the frozen Sable Lake. Notice the lone ice shanty.

It was supposed to be clear, but there were more clouds than we wanted.

There were too many clouds to get a good sunset, but we did get some after-glow.

And then we played with the moon both out in the dunes and wiith Photoshop.
